Born in Athens, Greece, and raised right here in Trenton, Michigan, Dr. Arestea Kakaris earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit after completing her undergraduate degree in microbiology at the University of Michigan. With over 45 years of serving the Downriver Michigan community, Dr. Kakaris has pursued extensive training in cosmetic dentistry, implantology, laser dentistry, and dental sleep medicine. Dr. Arestea Kakaris is the first certified provider of LANAP (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) treatment for gum disease in our community, and was awarded Fellowship status in the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry.
A strong believer in continuing education, Dr. Kakaris is passionate about providing her patients with the most advanced dental technology and techniques available. She regularly travels both domestically and internationally for advanced training, allowing her to deliver truly world-class dentistry to her patients.
Through her ongoing commitment to innovation, Dr. Arestea Kakaris has helped lead the way in bringing advanced dental care to the local community. From being the first in Downriver to offer Crest Whitestrips in her office years ago, to more recently becoming the first in Michigan to implement advanced jaw morphodynamic tracking technology for diagnostics and more precise treatment planning, Dr. Kakaris has often been recognized as a pioneer in introducing cutting-edge dental solutions.
As you step into the lobby at Kakaris Family Dentistry, you’ll immediately notice Dr. Kakaris’s passion for plants and nature—many of the beautiful and unique plants throughout the office have been grown and propagated by her personally.
Outside of the office, Dr. Kakaris enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling with her family, and proudly celebrating her Greek heritage.
